Brett Dennen Bronx Concert reviews
Only negative was opening act
I'm not a big country fan, unlike my wife, so this review really means a lot. His band took one break, he took three, which is impressive for a singer of any type of music. His vocals were clear, and the music was strong but didn't overpower the vocals. The walk through the aisles was a very special moment. When his band took a break, he would come out front and perform one of his quieter, more touching songs. He seemed to play every song individually, not in a medley like many artists do to save time. The acoustics and light show were excellent. The use of the animated feature during his break was funny and entertaining. If it weren't for the too loud and overdone performance of Miranda Lambert, I would have given the concert five stars. The floor seating at the Van Andel is mostly not good, especially for shorter concert-goers, as the views are obstructed without terracing. I would definitely go back to the Van Andel to see a performance again, but only if I could get seats in the front couple rows on the floor or the first couple rows in the first bowl, which is challenging due to all the presales – that's how I got my tickets.
